- Shogakukan, Shueisha to Directly Publish in Europe
The Nikkei news source reports that the Japanese publishers Shogakukan and Shueisha will join forces to directly publish manga in Europe starting in the fall of 2009. The two companies plan to publish in France first, and then expand to Great Britain, Spain, and the other European countries.

Apologies, as always, for missing my deadlines last week - it was a combination of family issues (which is a term that usually means depressing things, but in fact was quite the opposite!), and a grand scheme for another, bigger Click-via-cartoons edition that got much larger and more complicated than I was prepared to really deal with.
